  1. The Force?? as in Star Wars?
  2. Grandmother had more fragile bones. Kid's bones are more flexable. Could also have to do with the position they were in the train.
  3. It could be possible that the grandmother was heavier so the impact would have been harder than on the little girl who is lighter. Also, it could be a possibilty that the child was wearing a seat belt and the grandmother was not.
  4. old women have brittle bones, from calcium depletion and loss of bone mass that comes with age, childrens bones are more elastic
  5. old people have brittle bones... so the grandma's were more easily broken.
  6. The seventy five year old woman probably had osteoporosis which would make her bones softer this causing the fractured ribs. The nine year old's bones are in much better condition and probably can sustain more force than the seventy five year old. It also may depend on logistics...where were the two seated in relationship to the crash.
  7. well it probly depends on the possition of the two. the grandma may have been in a differant location or position then the 9 year old causeing the differance. or because of the 9year olds youth he/she waswnt as delecate. im 13 and i got in a car accident with no broken bones while my uncle got a cuncussion. hes older.
