Crash Victims Info

Know of a good personal injury lawyer in Washington State?

My son was attacked and suffered a fractured skull. The other guy says it weas 'mutual', even though he only had a scratch and my son didn't even know the guy, who came to my son's neighbor to hassle someone else about an ex. Police refuse to prosecute. Anyway to MAKE them do so? Otherwise, desperate for legal help. Grays Harbor County....

  1. as an officer for 12 years, i'd question your son a bit more. be very careful as he is going to tell you what makes him look innocent or less guilty of anything. don't be a gullible parent and believe your child has no responsibility or involvement in this. very, very, very rarely have i encountered situations where two people fight where they did not know each other even the slightest. there's some bad blood there from some point in time. the police are not the ones who decide prosecution, it's your county/city district attorney who makes that decision. ask them to forward the report off for review by the district attorney. it is not my choice as an officer to decide what i forward to the DA or not. if my victim, regardless of what i think about the case (if there is some type of crime, such as mutual battery) wants it to go to the DA, I have an obligation to send it off for review at least.
  2. If that's what the story is from your son, there are a lot of holes in it. Sounds like your son gave you a "there was absolutely nothing I could do, I was just sitting there and this stranger attacks ME for no reason whatsoever"... Come on now... I'm going to give you advice: don't go and bail your son out. I've seen parents get involved, and they end up "saving" their son until they die. I've seen it in my family, and I know that you feel bad for your son. He's tougher than you think, if you'll let him be.
