Crash Victims Info

Can you assess risk?

According to George Mason University, the odds of an American being killed in a terrorist attack are 1 in 1.6 million, but your odds of dying in an automobile crash are 1 in 228. So should we also declare a ‘War on Cars?’ Your odds of being killed by a dog are 1 in 700,000…a ‘War on dogs maybe?’ Your odds of being killed by lightning are 1 in 600,000…how about a ‘War on lightning?’ Falling out of bed kills 600 Americans each year, can we declare a war on that?

Public Comments

  1. bad question. Would you feel the same if your loved one was one of the victims?
  2. No one can stop lightning or car crashes, and yet terrorism can be stopped. 3000 people died on 9/11, but since the risk is so low, should no one ever worry about it happening again?
  3. Is that the same odds the Victim's of 9-11 had? I think not.
